Veterans Affairs (VA) Program
Veterans Affairs (VA) Program
The Office of Intnerational Affairs also administers the VA (Veterans Affairs) program, supporting former US military personnel utilizing VA educational benefits at Payap.
Payap University has been approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) of the United States of America to offer degree programs to eligible American veterans.
Studying abroad is one of the best ways American college students can acquire the international experience necessary to succeed in today’s globalized world. Studying abroad gives students the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of foreign cultures and languages and the cross-cultural communication skills necessary for 21st century leadership.
You can use your Post 9/11 GI Bill to study in Chiang Mai, Thailand!
VA funding is only authorized for students attending the university on a full-time basis and enrolled in one of the approved degree programs. Certificate programs (such as the Intensive Thai Program) are not eligible.

Payap University is eligible and accredited
Payap University has hosted dozens of US veterans and their dependents. Payap is authorized by the US Department of Veteran Affairs to offer undergraduate and graduate degree programs to eligible veterans. The VA Certifying Official at Payap is a career US Naval Officer who has the in-country experience to navigate US vets through the VA educational system.
Although we can not give details of allowances there is a website that is recommended by current VA students here.
The first thing that a prospective veteran must do prior to enrolling is obtain a Certificate of Eligibility. This must be done directly with the VA. Once the Certificate of Eligibility is obtained, contact the Certifying Official (CO) within the Payap University International Affairs Office (contact details below). The CO will enter you into our system via VA-ONCE (VA website).
